Ya gotta try this: a volcano trip.

It’s a real must for anyone coming to the Big Island. You’ll hike in Volcano-land, where the smell of sulphur and coarse lava rock surrounds you. Many of the sights will remind you of the movie Jurassic Park.  Tree fern and lush vegetation combined with nearby fields of fresh lava beds help you realize you’re not in Kansas anymore. Depending on when you arrive at Volcanos National Park, you may see steam clouds created by the molten lava entering the ocean, glowing lava fields, and in-your-face, actually flowing lava rivers. It gets really hot, so stay back and be warned.
