Apply the sunscreen and pack the kids, a beach bag, and head to Playa Caracol. This beach is perfect for your children to enjoy the shallow waters and build sandcastles in the warm, soft sand. Although this beach is the most crowded on the strip, it provides restaurants and several other activities for fun and adventure.
Are you into adrenaline pumping water sports? Playa Las Perlas might be the beach for you. Whether surfing, skiing or snorkeling, these waters are just what you need to fulfill your adventurous, thrill-seeking sport needs. There are a bunch restaurants and bars for your dining pleasure, after your extreme experience. Not feeling the adrenaline? Playa Las Perlas is a wonderful place to swim and relax in the sun as well.
On the east side of Cancun there are more beautiful beaches for you to explore. The ocean is on one side with a lagoon on the other. The ocean is a good place for tanning and swimming, while the lagoon is used mostly for kayaking, jet skiing and other activities--and the lagoon also has rentable water crafts, too!
Not into big crowds? Try the beaches at Camino Real Hotel. It is more secluded and is only accessible by walking through the hotels property. This beach on the tip of the peninsula is public property, but offers no restaurants or any other activities. So, sit back and enjoy the smell of the ocean and the sound of the waves slapping the shore. Camino Beach is small, but the property is very clean and manicured daily.
Feeling a little spunky? Head over to Playa Del Carmen or the Mayan Riviera. These beaches allow women to go topless. Although nudity is not permitted, going topless or in a thong is very popular. So if you don't want to return from your vacation with any visible tan lines, spend a day here in the surf and sand.
Safety worries are not a big issue here in Cancun: They provide police patrolled beaches. Police ride the beach on 4-wheelers and keep an eye out for any unnecessary, unwanted mischief. (Some beaches are even patrolled by uniformed Navy personnel carrying sub-machine guns for your added safety!) Cancun is sure to make your visit to their beaches a safe and enjoyable experience.
