New Year's Eve at Northstar: Fire, Ice & Fish

Every year, locals can’t wait to cruise up to Tahoe and spend our hard earned money gambling in the casinos. We also love to get ready in all of our glamorous splendor—a pre-gala facial and massage to start things off right, then getting our hair and make up done and picking out that perfect little black cocktail dress.

New Year’s Eve on the North shore of Lake Tahoe is one big party, but one of the best celebrations of all is the Fire & Ice New Year’s Eve Celebration at Northstar ski resort. For all ages, it’s all about live music and entertainment, food, libations, and even ice skating and fireworks.

Lake Tahoe's Timbercreek Restaurant & Bar will hold their usual fun-filled bash, but at the Mikuni Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar, you can expect something totally out of the ordinary. From 10 p.m.-1 a.m., and tickets at $100 in advance, it’s all you can eat sushi. There’s blue fin tuna, kobe beef, and oysters as well. The raffle prizes are a big hit, where you can score free sushi for a whole year, a flat screen TV or a Burton/Mikuni snowboard.

Don’t expect champagne when the clock strikes midnight. Grab your honey around the waist, pucker up for a big kiss and toast in 2008 with your complimentary shot glass filled with sake!
