Vacationing with young children can be a pleasurable, low-cost experience in Myrtle Beach. There are numerous budget-friendly family hot spots.
The Children's Museum is a hands-on creative and educational wonderland. While building, exploring the world of banking and electricity, pretending to be a doctor or dentist, and much more, children learn and discover. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. Toddler Tuesdays allow parents to have some time to relax while museum staff keeps little ones busy. Children under the age of one get in free. The rest of the family cost only $7 each.
Waccatee Zoo is a natured themed zoological farm set apart from commercialism and touristy sites. There are over 100 species of animals and 50 acres allowing for numerous hours of exploration. Winding trails will have little ones glancing at nearby migrating birds, and viewing and feeding exotic and domestic animals such as zebras and camels. Located next to the river, the family can also enjoy jet boat and river boat rides. Prices are suitable: 11 months and under are free, 12 months to 12 years cost $3.50, and 13 years and older are $7. The zoo is open seven days a week from 10 am to 5 pm.
Family Kingdom Oceanfront Water Park is a beachside adventure. There are twisting, turning water slides for the older children and the lazy river for parents and little ones. There are also splash pools, rain trees, and eight slides for younger children. Located on the premises are also roller coaster rides, Ferris wheels, and amusement park games. For hours of family-fun in a clean environment, Family Kingdom is a great place to visit. Family Kingdom offers an all-day wristband for $15.95. If you sign up for special discounts you'll receive offers such as, $3 off an all-day ride pass.
Alligator Adventure provides a truly amazing time. There are live shows, alligator feedings, and slithering snake petting. Children will learn about different animals: what they eat, where they live, and how they play. Visiting the reptile house is amazing and seeing the alligators jump for chicken is amusing. Alligator Adventure tickets cost $8 for children and $14 for adults if purchased online - a $2 savings. Active-duty military personnel get in for free. If you keep your ticket, you can attend a second day for free.
