Transporting 14 millions tourists to Myrtle Beach every year has never been easier. Several domestic airlines fly to Myrtle Beach International Airport, a short drive from the Myrtle Beach core.

The Grand Strand Airport and the Conway-Horry County Airport handles the services (parking and refueling) of private and corporate jets.

Greyhound provides daily bus service to the Union Bus Terminal in Myrtle Beach.

For travel by train, Amtrak serves the Myrtle Beach area with stops in Florence, 70 miles away. Shuttles from the Florence Amtrak Station travel directly to Myrtle Beach.

The Coastal Rapid Public Transit Authority (Lymo) provides local bus service in Myrtle Beach. There are 25 buses that run every day, including holidays, from 8:00AM to 8:00PM. The buses serve 22 routes between the Grand Strand and surrounding areas. Fares are reasonable.
 
Several major highways provide spectacular scenic drives to Myrtle Beach. Consider taking US Highways 17 and 501 directly to the Grand Strand. Interstate travelers can also access the area using I-95 and I-120. Additional routes include S.C. Highways 9 and 544,  and Veterans Highway which connects to 501.

It's easy to get acclimated in Myrtle Beach if you keep a few streets in mind when driving. The main thoroughfares are Ocean Boulevard and Kings Highway; both run north and south, parallel to the Atlantic Ocean. Numbered streets run east and west.

It's advisable to reserve a rental car prior to your trip. Alternatively, you can rent one at upon arrival the airport. Rates will vary but there's a wide selection of vehicles to choose from. Myrtle Beach has several national car rental agencies.

Additionally, check to find out the minimum age requirement to rent a car. In some states, licensed drivers must be at least 21 years old.

There are just a few bike rental agencies in the area. For about $8.00 to $10.00 a day, your can rent a bike and ride around to explore Myrtle Beach. Hourly and multiple-day rentals are also available. As a precaution, rent a safety helmet and a bicycle lock. This will only cost you an extra $1.00.

With so much leisure activities Myrtle Beach, walking is perhaps the best way to take them all in. Guided walking tours will lead you past many sights and attractions. On your own, you can take a self-guided tour. For something more relaxing, walk along the piers or just stroll down the beach.
