2000 Restaurants--A Myrtle Beach Guide

Myrtle Beach is the number one drive to vacation destination in the United States.  While vacationing there, many people are drawn to the nightlife, which ranges from the simple and quaint, to the high-energy and high tech.

Those wishing to take in a show can visit the House of Blues, near Barefoot Landing.  This venue provides live concerts and local bands, as well as radio hosted events.  At Dicks Last Resort patrons line up to delight in the "worst service on the beach" and rock to live music.

The shopping extravaganza, Broadway at the Beach, features the Myrtle Beach Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywood at the entrance to Celebrity Square, the seat of nightlife at this unique outdoor shopping plaza.  Within Celebrity Square one will find Crocodile Rocks, a dueling piano bar, Froggy Bottoms, an eclectic mix of dance music, Fat Tuesdays, a New Orleans style club.  There is a club called Blarneystones Pub and cigar bar, the beach's only genuine Irish pub.  Thursday is college night and there is never a cover charge.   The nice thing about Celebrity Square is that you can go club hopping and never have to worry about driving between clubs.

In fact, Malibu's, Froggy Bottoms, Club Boca, and Broadway Louie's are all under the same roof, so one admission gets you into each of these four clubs!  (All clubs are 18 to party and 21 to drink.)  Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville is a taste of Caribbean culture, with live music and Jimmy Buffett's signature island theme.  At given intervals the song brings the "hurricane alarm"; the roof begins to rotate and a bottle comes down from the center of the "storm" to fill a giant margarita glass.  Broadway at the Beach also features some more family oriented entertainment, like the Ripley's Aquarium and the U.S.S. Hunley museum..

Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede and Medieval Times are the beach's dinner shows where attendees can participate in the show and enjoy a three course meal.  Medieval Times requires patrons to eat as people ate in days of yore, without the use of utensils.

Myrtle Beach is a veritable cornucopia of entertainment and it would be a Herculean task to list all of the 2000 restaurants and thousands of entertainment options.  Those wishing to visit Myrtle Beach can get some great information and brochures, as well as money saving coupons and discounts at the various visitor's centers which dot the Grand Strand.
