Searching for Sharks and Squids and Stingrays? Check out the Myrtle Beach Aquarium!

Myrtle Beach is a top-notch visitor's dream.  South Myrtle Beach has been awarded numerous "Visitor's Choice Awards," due in large part to its clubs, restaurants, and entertainment venues.  It is not just for adults, however; South Myrtle Beach offers many venues for the family to enjoy, such as movie theaters, sideshow rides, The Pavilion National Park, and Ripley's Aquarium where you will literally be surrounded by sharks.

One of Myrtle's biggest draws, the aquarium is a $40 million project and will certainly have the entire family gob smacked. Located at the Broadway at the beach. You will travel on a 330 feet moving path as you travel through the 750,000 gallon tank named Dangerous Reef. This is awesome. Kids can actually participate in a "sleep with the sharks" program --adults too, if you dare!

Feel bad about unloading the kids for the evening?  Don't--it's educational!  The kids will experience learning specifically designed for the budding marine biologist here. The activities include an aquarium scavenger hunt, lesson, craft activity, late night snack and later a continental breakfast, as well as a self guided aquarium tour. Make sure to pack a sleeping bag and a white t-shirt, for fish printing, pillow, air mattress and pen and pad. (To make a reservation, call 1-800-734-8888, ext. 226).

Ready to go fishing?  See you at the Aquarium!

Myrtle Beach is a family-friendly sure-thing.  Pack your sunscreen, your camera, and your kids and head to your beach front vacation villa.  (Just leave the "When Sharks Attack" video at home...)
