If you don't find enough to keep you entertained and busy at Palmas del Mar, then you can explore the El Yunque (rain-forest) and discover nature and try to catch a glimpse of the glorious wildlife and native birds that inhabit the rain-forest.
The most popular tour to take is the one to Monkey Island. A half-hour boat trip takes you from Humacao to Santiago Cay off the coast of Naguabo. This island is the home of close to a thousand monkeys originally used as research animals, but are now liberated and studied in their natural environment.
Monkey Island has a variety of tropical marine life and gorgeous native corals. One of the most wonderful things to do why visiting Monkey Island is to snorkel in the shallow reefs and explore the remains of a sunken barge off the coast of the island.
