St. Simons Island, Georgia, a place far away from the madness of life. A place enveloped in history. A place that has been a popular destination since native Americans shared the rich bounty of these islands so many years ago.The views are awesome and enriched with velvety-covered oaks and creek-fed marshes...an incredible array of birds and wildlife. The soul of this island is graceful and spiritually limitless.
Nature Knows No Bounds
The beaches are unbelievably pristine as you stand there upon the crystal sand and feel the caressing sighs of the wind insouciant and stimulating from the sea. You can see the dolphins playing in the swell of the sea and pelicans plunge effortlessly for dinner.
Love nature? Nature lover? Take the Salt Marsh Nature Tours. A unique boat ride through narrow, winding tidal creeks. It is a two-hour excursion where one will see everything and anything this island offers as to its exquisite vegetation, birds, mammals, fish, and grass. Yes, I said grass. Not that kind of grass. Cord grass. You have to see it to believe it. There are other boat rides...but, I must insist you take the Dolphin Quest...another two-hour ride through the marsh to the Ocean. You won't be disappointed.
Haunting Highlights
I love folklore...especially, when there is that frightening edge, that supposed sighing breath across the cheek when there is no wind...not even a calm breeze.
There is a lamplight walking tour of Olde St. Simons where you will experience tales of local folklore...of murder...of mystery. It is a superbly entertaining journey along moonlit streets and the narrow passageways of the Old Village and parks. But wait, there is more and not for the faint of heart. The Original Ghost Walk is a very private late-night entrance to the St. Simons Lighthouse...the third most famous haunted lighthouse in the nation!
Nautical Nuptials
Planning a wedding? Why not create the wedding of your dreams in the Golden Isles of Georgia? It is famously historic, one of the most hospitable places on earth and then, there is romance. The atmosphere of this island is simply wondrous. Imagine the radiance of the loving couple and the sunlight glissading over the guests. A magical place for a honeymoon, don't you think?
You know what would be a unique reception idea? The St. Simons Island Trolley Tours. It is a special tour of St. Simons Island. It is a grand tour of life in the Old South, where the drive takes you past the Lighthouse, one of only three working lighthouses in Georgia...to Bloody Marsh of the famous 1742 battle where the fate of the Southern Colonies was decided. Retreat Plantation...and the only trolley tour on St. Simons Island that takes you inside historic Christ Church.
Now, the only question I have, will somebody please take me back?
