Bring it Around Town to Spring Break in Breckenridge

The charmingly quaint town of Breckenridge is certainly rich in authentic southern history and western culture. Breckenridge became a boom town at the very peak of the famed gold-rush. Breckenridge is the largest historical area in the entire district of Colorado. Now how about a little information about the resort?

Breckenridge Ski resort is located on Highway 9 Breckenridge, Colorado. From the Denver airport it is a 100 mile trip, and 63 miles from picturesque Eagle,Co.Breckenridge Ski Resort actually consists of four stunning peaks which offer the eager skier 2,350 snow kissed acres of superb skiing.

There are 152 well groomed trails to enjoy and these are served by no less than 29 lifts. They've actually got the highest chair lift in the whole of America. (Hope you're not scared of heights!)

The summit statistics are:
Elevation: 12,998
With a vertical drop of: 3,398'
Skiable Acres are: 2,359 well maintained acres
Annual snowfall: 310"

Looking for a good deal this party season?  The Spring Break reveler will be delighted to know that Breckenridge lift ticket prices can now be anywhere from 20%- 40% off regular season rates. (Note that these tickets are valid at Arapaho Basin and Keystone resorts as well. For more detailed information call Breckenridge Ski Resort at (970) 453-5000 or visit www.breckenridge.com.) And don't fear if you are not the best on the slopes--you may not know it yet, but the activities off the ski runs are just as good as on. There's a host of exciting things to do, see, and explore.

Now don't forget that you have to eat.My favorite choice for breakfast meals is the Columbine Cafe.  This is also the local's favorite cabin-like eatery. It gets rather crowded, so head over early unless you wish to wait for quite some time.

Another tasty option is yours if you head on over to the delightful Salt Creek Restaurant. The meals are superb here, but if you have a craving for a smoothie you won't find better than the ones at the Cool River Cafe.

Bagels make my mouth water and, with that in mind, Clint's will serve up the best you could ever taste. The Daylight Donuts are scrumptious as well.

Meals and snacks can be obtained right there on the ski resort. So you can still keep your eyes on the handsome hunks. But if you're wishing for some authentic Colorado cooking, head on over to either Briar Rose, Top of The World or Hearthstone eateries. You'll be drooling as soon as you walk in. The wild game, seafood, and steaks are delicious.

If it's Mexican food you are wishing for, head over to Jalepeno's or Jalisco but don't blame me if you end up with the "ring of fire." Carrumba, these meals sure have a bite to them! Down a few margaritas while. (I said a few, not every darn ounce of the stuff!)

It's time to get into spirit of the Spring Break and what better way to do so,than having a few drinks your pals? Tiffany's in Beaver Run is one of the local's top choice places to go, so head on over and have the time of your life. One tequila, two, three and hit the floor. This is one of the livelier bars in Breckenridge, and so is Fatty's Bar which will be packed to the rafters.

The Park Avenue Pub has an excellent atmosphere, and Bubba Grump's has a heated deck outside which will give you some awesome views as well as some fresh air to inhale while you attempt to sober up. But if you wish for some great drink specials take your thirst over to Maggie's.

If martinis are more your style,(ooh classy indeed!) head over to the Blue River Bistro. They have martini specials which will certainly be enticing. But for an ice cold brew you can't choose better than the South Ridge Seafood.

Suffering from a major hangover? I thought as much. Oh well, head on over to the O2 lounge and clear the head with an herbal martini. Go outside, inhale the air, grab another martini and continue doing this until you either feel much better or are too bombed to care.

Now if you are wishing for some action, head on over to Sherpa and Yeti's,located on Main Street. This is the local hot-spot because it rocks, literally! Live music and dancing are the main dish here, so grab your comfy shoes and get ready to party hard. There are a variety of bands which play a medley of blues, funk, jazz, reggae and so much more. You may hear some Josh White blues if you're lucky. They also have musician's night, so get on over there and have fun.

If you're hoping to see plenty of guys or hot chicks The Quandry will fulfill your needs. This is where most of the hotties hang out. (Oh yeah buddy, that little cutie from the ski slopes should be there if she has any sense at all!)

There are literally hundreds of daily flights to and from Denver International Airport, so you won't need to worry about getting there. If you are hiring a car follow the directions below:

Denver airport to Breckenridge is approximately 104 miles. Now just take the Interstate 70 West to exit 203. Continue along there heading south on HWY 9.

If you're traveling from Colorado Springs AIRPORT: take HWY 24 West you get to Hartselle take the HWY 9 north which will be approximately 33 miles.

From Eagle County airport take the Interstate 70 East as far as Frisco which is exit 203. Turn right onto HWY 9 and head south 9 miles further. This trip is roughly 63 miles in length.

Big Sky Shuttle will take you to the various ski resorts as well as the Denver International Airport. Free shuttle rides take you on routes throughout Breckenridge base areas, the town, and the free parking lots. These will take you to the ice rink as well as the Recreation Center, and the City Market.

Well my friends it's time to say Bon Voyage. Enjoy your trip , enjoy yourself immensely, be safe and say hello to all the hunks and gals for me!
