Night Time is the Right Time in Keystone

Have you heard about Keystone's 3,158-acre dance floor? Open from 4 pm - 9 pm, it may make spring break at Keystone a totally different kind of party than you'll find anywhere else in the world. It's night skiing, and it's just one of many things that makes Keystone an off-the-hook spring break destination.

The night skiing scene (and trust us, it's a scene), is built around the A51 Terrain Park. Not your average terrain park, the A51 was recently voted one of the top ten parks in America by Transworld Snowboarding Magazine. The park's got plenty of room to ride for everyone from beginners to pro's. There's also plenty of room to hangout on the side of the half-pipe, in those boots that you spent all weekend shopping for.

If you're not completely exhausted, and ready to hit the hot tubs with your new friends, Keystone has one of the best pub-crawls in all of Colorado. Heck, the town even has a beer named after it.

There are numerous microbreweries throughout Keystone that are more than happy to give out free samples to spring breakers. Many of these are located in the River Run Village area, which also contains some of the best snow-free dance floors around.

When you're too sore to put in another day on your planks, Keystone has a ton of fun alternatives. The downhill inner-tubing and snow biking come highly recommended, as well as the rent-your-own snowmobile tours.

If some type of "educational field trip" would help convince your parents that Keystone is a good idea, the Coors Brewing Plant (home of Keystone Beer), is an hour away. In addition to learning all about chemistry, they offer a short culinary class after the free 45-minute tour of the brewery. Just try not to spend all your time in the complementary tasting room, and make sure to arrange a safe ride back through all those mountain roads!

Getting to, and staying in Keystone is cheap and easy; two words any ECON student would love. Keystone is only a 90-minute drive from the Denver airport, which is one of the largest airports in the country. In addition to renting a car and driving to Keystone, there's also plenty of low-cost shuttles to ferry you back and forth to the airport.

If you're actually interested in sleeping while in Keystone, you can save some serious green by renting a condo with a group of people. Some people may end up on the floor (intentionally, for once), but you can cut your per person cost from $100-200 per night, down to $50 - 75. Just don't break anything; you'll end up paying for it!

So, if you're looking for change of spring break scenery, but want to keep the spring break vibe, put Keystone at the top of your list. It may be one of the coldest hot-spots in all of Colorado!

If you're playing the group leader for your spring ski trip to Keystone Colorado, look like the hero and find a killer crib, and rent a house or condo centrally located to all the action Keystone has to offer.
