Orlando, Florida. Home of the family vacation. With so much choice it is essential that you plan ahead, even if you never plan leaving the Walt Disney World area. If hunkering down for a week at the theme parks is your thing then you should purchase the all singing-all dancing Disney Hopper Pass. It has the advantage of allowing you to visit more than one park each day. Transportation between the different parks is free and frequent. With monorails and boats to choose from it is a great way to take a break and see the sights.
Adding on the Water Park Fun and More Option is a wonderful idea for the active vacationer or the sun worshiper. With this you will have entry to Disney's two themed water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard beach.
Also included is entrance to the Wide World of Sports Complex, a 220-acre facility hosting professional and amateur sporting events year round.
For the technology geek and games lover Disney Quest is a must. This indoor theme park with five floors of cutting edge technology will have you designing and riding on your own roller coaster simulator, battling evil forces in a virtual world or shooting the rapids of a virtual river. This is a fantastic way to end a long day at the parks and located in Downtown Disney along with many world-class restaurants.
The Fun Option also includes admission to Pleasure Island. At night this spot comes alive with dance and comedy clubs, cool bars and retro hang out spots.
The trick with Disney tickets is the more days you buy the cheaper the average Disney day becomes. However, base tickets expire 14 days after purchase so make sure you are going to use all your days or upgrade for an additional fee to the no expiration option.
Each of Disney's four parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and MGM studios, has plenty to keep you busy for a whole day. However, with the hopper option you can afford to spend an exhausting morning in the magic kingdom, travel to Epcot for lunch at one of their great ethnic restaurants, explore Epcot for the rest of the afternoon, have dinner, catch the fireworks over the lake and hit a night club on Pleasure Island.
Orlando has a lot more activities to offer other than Disney, but with just seven days you may not have time to see them. And really, after seven days of Disney Magic, you may need another vacation!
