I could spend seven entire days in Orlando, Florida just lying in the sun, reading, and sipping fruity beverages.  Then I realize I could do that at the county park seven miles from my home.  So, how do you make the most of a week's vacation in Orlando, Florida?  The biggest problem you'll have is too many options.  Just don't overdo it. You'll need a vacation to recover from your vacation!


DON'Ts of Orlando Vacations

•     Don't forget to check with each family member.  It is good to know what each one considers a vacation priority so this trip is fun for all.
•     Don't miss out on Kennedy Space Center with its Astronaut Hall of Fame and IMAX theater.
•     Don't forget to visit International Drive.
•     Don't miss out on seasonal events or attractions.  Search for the best time of year to visit Orlando, Florida.
•     Don't just eat fast food.  People come from world over to visit Disney, making Orlando quite diverse.  Try something new, enjoy some local flavor.
•     Don't buy tickets from unknown sources.  Check with the BBB.
•     Don't be afraid to get out of the city.  Many lesser known attractions await you.  You don't "HAVE TO" go to all the big theme parks.  Search for Orlando's secret gems.

DO's of Orlando Vacations   

•     Do let the Internet do your prep work to save you time and money
•     Do an on-line search for visiting Orlando, Florida on a modest budget.
•     Do spend one day in two Disney parks, if you must see the mouse.
•     Do visit both Universal parks in one day.
•     Do escape the heat by taking a day trip to the beach or a water park.
•             -Either coastline is about 60 miles away.  
•             -Disney offers; Disney's Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon water parks.
•             -Wet n Wild is a personal favorite.
•     Do take advantage of free activities your resort may offer.
•     Do quiz the locals to discover what Orlando is all about from an insider perspective.
•     Do remember to see some gators.  Gatorland offers some great activities.
•     Do take time out to pamper yourself.  Vacation time is a great excuse for a massage.
•     Do come back next year!  There is too much to experience in one week.
